The EPA is hosting a series of webcasts to build awareness about harmful algal blooms and nutrient pollution. The webcasts will air on September 25, 2013, for "Linking Nutrient Pollution and HABs: State of the Science and EPA Actions  " the fourth in an exciting series of summer webinars about this worsening environmental problem and public health threat.

Hans Paerl from Univeristy of North Carolina will discuss the state of science regarding the link between nutrient pollution and harmful algal blooms. Ellen Gilinksy and Mario Sengco from EPA's Office of Water will discuss actions EPA is taking to address nutrient inputs as they relate to blooms, including criteria development and state nutrient reduction strategies.
