The 2013 LIA Fishing Derby for mentally and physically challenged children of the surrounding counties of Grand Lake St. Marys was another success. There were 135 children in attendance and 127 adults – helpers, teachers, teacher aides, and parents – for a total of 262 participants. We cooked 400 hot dogs and had leftover cookies, which we sent back to school with the teachers.

Fishing was excellent again this year. The kids caught numberous bluegill and kept workers busy taking fish off hooks and re-baiting.

A big thanks to all the volunteers who baked cookies and helped out at the Fishing Derby!
