The Lake Improvement Association formally recognized ODNR Division of Soil and Water's Terry Mescher and Frances Springer at their Dec. 7, 2013 Member Meeting. The pair have gone beyond the call of duty to reduce nutrient runoff that ultimately ends up in Grand Lake St. Marys and contributes to algal blooms. Together, they have worked with producers in the watershed to assist with the development of nutrient management plans that help reduce or eliminate runoff in the watershed while simultaneously ensuring crops receive needed nutrients during productive growing seasons.

The LIA applauds Mescher and Springer for their dedication to Grand Lake St. Marys.
