Minutes: (Brian)Distributed via email. Jonas Foote made motion to approve minutes, Ryan Garrison second – motion passed.
Treasurer's Report: (Brian) In Mort's absence Brian reported that the current balance – $23,886.06 Pat Schmitt made motion to approve treasurer's report and pay all bills, Sean Finke second – motion passed.
Habitat: (Sean Finke) Only 3 people have contact him in reference to seed orders so they were advised to contact PF direct. Incentive payments for warm season grass buffers will remain the same as last year 60' – 100' = $50 an acre, 100' and up = $150 an acre with a maximum of $1,000 per landowner. Other habitat projects are handled on a case by case basis.
Farm Bill Biologist: (John Wallace absent) Report submitted.
Youth Programs: (Jonas) No report this month.
Banquet:(Gary) – Need to local for local talent to incorporate into the banquet. Mike Acheson made a motion to set January 22, 2011 as next years banquet date, Mark Lefeld second – motion passed with one no vote.
Nominations: (Ryan): Ryan advised that all officers offered to retain current positions and that he had no new nominations. Pat Schmitt made a motion to close nominations, Andy Stachler second – motion passed. Mark Lefeld made motion to accept nominations, Gary Steinbrunner second – motion passed.
New Business: A budget committee was formed to include Mort Pugh, Bill Knapke, Jonas Foote, Mark Lefeld and Sean Finke. They are to present proposed budget at April's monthly meeting. Brian Miller gave a brief report on State Council and ask that the budget committee consider supporting LEP in their budget submission. Laura Walker presented the annual place mat contest in observation of Conservation week with this year's theme being “Healthy Habitat”. Jonas Foote made a motion to sponsor at $200, Ryan Garrison second – motion passed. The Chapter also received a donation request for an FFA competition to support the “wildlife portion”. Jonas Foote made a motion to sponsor at $200, Ryan Garrison second – motion passed. Gary Steinbrunner made a request for the Chapter to join the West Central Ohio Land Conservancy. After discussion Ryan made a motion to donate them one framed print of the year, Jonas Foote second – motion passed. Gary advised that we will be recognized as a member. Gary Steinbrunner owes the Chapter $140 for a print. The Chapter still has framed prints of the year if anyone is interested. The frozen t shirt game was discussed as a possible new game for next years banquet. Sean Finke discussed 2 proposed wetlands for the Mercer Waterfowl Area. One will be 1.5 acres and the other ¾ to 1 acre of water with both being south of St Rt 703. He has received a cost estimate of $3500 - $5000 depends on SHIPO determination. Over the last month I have still been working on Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) promotion.

Still working with Landowner up on the county line on a CREP/Possible WRP project. Wetland designs are created for 120 acre site south of county line.

Still working with Mercer co Landowner on CREP? /WRP/CRP project in Jay County NW of Pennville.

Attended the Darke PF banquet. I believe they had 500 people!! I was told they did well, but not sure of exact details.

Really been investigating sites for WRP in all my counties and helping the WRP team with maps and landowner contact info.

Met a Mercer Co landowner at Darke PF banquet who may be interested in CP33 if eligible. (W of 127 between 119 and Kremer Hoying)

Diversity Conference in Columbus is this week, and the Deer and Turkey expo is in 2 weeks.
Over the next month my schedule will be “loose”, so I can assist on prescribe burns through PF, DOW, and others. I will not be able to make the meeting tonight due to a prior engagement. However, I am always available either by phone or email.
