Grand Lake/Wabash Watershed Alliance is partnering with the Mercer County Health Department to educate people on septic systems, old and new.  The first series of these educational opportunities will take place at the Mercer County Builders Association “Focus on Your Home Show.”  This two day event the first weekend in March will allow the partnership to make sure new home builders and those considering housing remodels are up to date on septic system information.  No one wants to deal with a faulty or failing septic system.  There will be information on the permitting process and maintenance of old and new systems.  The Health Department and the Watershed Alliance are partnering together to continue addressing septic system failure and preventative measures in order to improve water quality.  If you have any questions regarding septic systems, or would like more information, please call the Health Department at 419-586-3281.  To learn more about the “Focus on Your Home Show,” please visit http://www.mercercountybuildersassociation.com/?page_id=17.
